Our Story
Ensey Publishing is a service-oriented business rooted in the love of music, the technology of audio and video production, and the creative innovation that provides services and products beyond what one imagined possible.
Ensey Publishing’s Chief Technologist, Robert Ensey, began his journey with sound engineering during his undergraduate and graduate degree programs at North Texas (UNT) from 1975-1981, where he earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Music Composition specializing in electronic and computer-generated music. Robert was also the principal recording engineer for the School of Music at UNT, which included installation of equipment and wiring for multiple studio performance spaces and the central control room. Upon graduation from UNT, Robert began working as an Assistant Professor in Sound Recording and Reinforcement with Roy Pritts at the University of Colorado at Denver (UCD) from 1981-1987. During his tenure at UCD, he also taught classes with National Public Radio, and seminars at Caribou Ranch Recording Studio from 1982-1985. Robert completed a Master's in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Denver in 1987, and is currently a Senior Engineering Fellow for a major defense contractor. However, Robert never forgot his love of recording arts and composition.
When Robert’s sons, Paul and John, became performing members of Tucson Junior Strings (a series of six levels of youth chamber music orchestras), Robert began recording live performances (multiple camera and audio, post production, and media distribution) for that organization’s students and faculty.
John Ensey, Founder and CEO of Ensey Publishing would assist his father Robert in the recording and production aspects of their work for TJS, which led to John’s passion and interest in recording arts and film production. Using Robert's cameras and microphones, John produced, filmed and edited an independent film project, Ockham's Razor, with Jeremy Harkin, which had several showings at The Loft Cinema and The Screening Room in Tucson, AZ.
John Ensey attended UCD for his undergraduate degree in Recording Arts (conferred 2013), and is currently working on his Master's in Recording Arts (to be completed in 2023). After his undergraduate degree, John returned to Tucson and began teaching orchestra and guitar and music in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD), while assisting Robert with the video and audio recordings for TJS until the onset of the lockdowns in 2020. The pandemic led John and Robert to pivot to where they are now, providing Audio and Video Live-Stream Broadcasting of weekly worship services and benefit concerts at Dove of Peace Lutheran Church in Tucson, Arizona.
Over the years John Ensey has been involved in several other music projects as well as YouTube video productions, including music-videos, and short-films.
